• Four of us had an excellent lunch meal today, 30th April 2012. The food was well prepared and plentiful and the service was pleasant and prompt.

• I have been to this pub once previously and had a nice meal. That was years ago. I think the pub has changed hands since then. We were taking part in an annual beer festival for charity through a friend who pointed out the landlady who was going bezerk at people who were standing outside with dogs, and other people who were getting in her was as she charged around glass collecting. But the beer was good. Didn't stay long enough to sample the food with that landlady though! I also witness the bar man shouting at a few people and didn't really remove his angry expression the whole time we'd been there. The other pubs on the charity drinking route had a slightly less frosty reception :-) I hate writing negative reviews... but it looks like the attitude is still the same, because the review before me is pretty shocking too!

• been to the smiths arms several times and enjoyed the meals, but not today 16/7/11 rogan josh was not, more like a madras,lasagne very greasey and not eatable, when complained the landlord did not apologise, so i paid and said i would not be back,his reply was GOOD.
