• Had a great meal here with family and friends at the weekend- Carvery was fresh hot and excellent value with 3 good thick slices of meat ( not like a chain ) madras was good and the steak & kidney suet pudding - the cod & chips was huge but all in all excellent value for money and recommended - we will be back !

• Just been in today for a carvery. Even at just after opening lunchtime, the food was clearly not fresh. On making a complaint the Manager's attitude was terrible. He said that he only gets 'one of me a year', and that he 'hoped he wouldn't see me again'. He has no customer skills at all, and should be able to deal with a complaint without being offensive to a paying customer. I wish I had seen the other reviews for this place before we went. I have never known such a poor carvery, and awful attitude from a Manager before. I will definately NOT be using this pub to eat again, and WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone! I think that a one star rating is too good for this place.

• 07-04-12.Party of ten including 2 children.Atmosphere,food and service was excellent,no complaints from any of us,apart from no large rack of ribs on the menu.Will definately be coming back.

• On arrival friendly atmosphere, nice decor. Food was awful dry fish pie as thier wasnt any sauce in it. Overcooked Steak and kidney pudding. suet crust tough could not be eaten. and the steak was only suitable for the bin.

• Steak so tough it could not be eaten. when complaint was made , Manager very arrogant no customer relation skills at all. 6 in party , another steak was tough and steak and kidney pudding overcooked so that suet crust could not be cut.after complaining and returning the steak , it was at least 30 mins before a replacement came.Our 65th birthday celebration was ruined.I have awarded one star for the poor waitress who had to deal with it, without supportfrom either manager.
