• Having discovered this tucked away, very pretty Inn on the last day of our holiday, I cannot praise the staff or food highly enough and it would seem there has been a change in staff recently as the two barmen said they had only been there three weeks. All the staff were friendly and professional, the food was very reasonably priced and beautifully cooked - would recommend the Black Rock Steak! - Great area out the back with decking overlooking a stream and behind that a grassed area with a children's play area. Can't fault anything about our visit there, so will definitely be visiting again next year!!!

• Called in for a pint of "real ale", which was being advertised on the road-side sign. Very tired & thirsty, after a long walk. Only 2 other customers (clearly locals). Landlord REFUSED to remove sparkler from the hand-pumps, telling us some nonsense about "not serving flat beer, because if people see it they won't ever go there again", or something along those lines. So disgruntled we walked out, with the landlord missing out on at least two, possibly more pint purchases, plus also possible food purchases. Won't ever go there again, & suggest the pub is avoided by Real Ale enthusiasts!!!

• My partner and I went to this pub with our 3month old baby and to be honest were rather disgusted by the attitude of the staff. Our baby needed feeding and they refused to provide warm/hot water in order for us to heat a bottle of milk, they were rude when we asked and quite frankly were not much of a family pub. My partner then asked for a cup of tea, but they once again refused to provide one saying that they do not serve tea or coffee, yet they had facilities to do so in the dining area! We finished our meal quickly which by the way was equally as dreadful as the service. I would not recommend this pub in any way, staff are arrogant especially the proprietor, the food was over priced, far too expensive and also microwaved and it's a bit of a shabby pub too.
