• Have been using Whites since moving to Essex, we park in Frinton and walk to Walton'O'N .When it's a really cold day it's a great treat to warm up with this lovely pie mash n liquor , it's the best !

• Hi My wife and I visited Whites just before Christmas. Brought up in East london, we know all there is to know abot Pie and Mash. Believe us - this is about the BEST there is. The previous reviewer who had a negative response..must have gone to the wrong shop! Whites is the most tasteful and enjoyable pie and mash available and that includes Goddards, who we also visit. • I am a Londoner originally and now live in Suffolk, so I know my pie and mash having been bought up on the stuff. Whites pie mash and liquor are fantastic and completely authentic. I have tried other places trying to cook this dish and their liquor is just a parsley sauce, big mistake. Their pies are also made with the wrong pastry. Whites cook everything to the correct recipe, are consistent and must be as good or even better than some of the London places. The taste took me back to my childhood and ever since my first dish with Whites I go as regularly as possible even though I live an hours drive away. It is clean and the staff friendly I always take away some pies and liquor for the freezer so I can satisfy my addiction to their meals when I cant get there. WONDERFUL PLACE.

• It might well be the best place to eat in Walton the one horse town but have you seen the state of the other places! As for the pies...they consist of greyish thin mince in pastry that could pass as cardboard.The potato is not much better if that is what it really is. I have tried many pie and mash shops in the last 50 years and suggest diners try Goddards who have been around a darn sight longer and still make themselves the best pies around.

• Nothing else compares.simply the best, better than anything else. If I was a pie dish, I'd want to be a pie dish here to witness all the pie pleasure I bring to the eaters

• Absolutely fantastic, everything so fresh. The minced beef pies are how they should be and the eels are cooked to perfection.

• I have been a regular customer of White's for some time now. It is a great place, the eels pie and mash are authentic, the staff are really friendly and good fun, prices are reasonable. It is definitely the best place to eat in Walton-on the- Naze!
