• The White Lion changed hands. It is now more of a gastro pub with tasty very food. If you want quick Sue run-of-the mill instant food it may not be the place for you but if you like tasty home cooked food with a difference then try it. I, with friends and family, have had several excellent meals here.

• A good chef who makes tasty food with some original ideas. Service tends to be slow because the meals are fresh and individual. We've had some excellent food there. There is an easily found website.

• Dont confuse this pub in Weston with the White Lion in Barthomley. The white Lion in Weston is dreadful. At least 10 landlords in the past 5 years. Food was cold, not what I ordered AND they wanted paying when I sent it back uneaten!

• Saturday 14th May 2011. Meals took 45 minutes to arrive and there were less than 10 people in the place. 10 minute wait at the bar before anyone appeared to refresh our drinks. Waitress didn't know, or seem to care which potatoes came with the food. When my soup arrived it had a skin on the top which reminded me of school canteen custard (I didn't bother to taste it, just sent it back with a suggestion that I didn't want a replacement), The "chef" came out, put both his fists on the table and leaned over us, asking what our "problem" was, not sure he enjoyed my response that anyone who can take 45 minutes to turn out that garbage should be ashamed.I'd heard this place has a good reputation, not sure what for, or how.Appalling. Shame this star system doesn't have a minus.

• I ate at this pub on March 25th 2011. The decor was ok. The food appaling and the service, the same. When asked if the food was ok at the end of our meal the waitress did not even offer a sorry, there was just silence. Food was also dropped on my lap, I think that the waitrees didnt even notice? Our drinks order didn't even turn up, we had to ask for them again after 20 mins. Such a shame as the pub looked so lovely, shame about the food and service. The 1 star is just for the decor.e/
