• Dropped in 'on speck' for lunch after original plans were shelved. Wished we'd checked the menu before we'd ordered drinks. No lunch menu available - only the same as evening choices, but we thought we'd give it a go seeing as we were pressed for time. Whilst the quality of the food was ok, it was extremely overpriced for what was served as all items were priced individually, so things like chips/potatoes or veg were side orders and so added to the bill. This made a simple lunch order quite an expensive affair. Cod and Leek cakes almost �9 without anything else other than a bed of spinach and sauce accompaniment. Oh and don't order the Shepherds Pie - the meat was conspicuous by its near absence. Nice pub, good for a few drinks and probably lovely in the evening when you'd expect to pay that little bit more but they need to seriously sort out a lunch menu then the place wouldn't be so empty through the day.
