• We recently attempted to purchase a bathroom suite and tiles at Victor Paris. I am very intrigued by the numerous positive reviews on Google about Ross Penman who appears to be the Mother Teresa of bathroom sales. I'm sure the other sales people at Victor Paris are just as good as him, quite possibly better, but they don't seem to be mentioned in all the glowing reviews very much. It does make me question the validity of some of these online reviews. Anyway, we approached Ross in order to purchase our suite. He seemed bored, disinterested and was offhand, which was unfortunate as we intended to spend a lot of money in the shop. There were no prices displayed and when we enquired about costs Ross refused to tell us till he had run through a complete estimate. He also seemed reluctant to organise a fitter as we wanted Victor Paris to install the bathroom and told that the fitter's time was valuable and implied that we were wasting it. The actual suite we ordered turned out to be completely unsuitable for our purposes. In order to fill the bath we would have had to have had lots of bathroom pipe alterations and an unnecessary pump installed which would have been costly. At no point was this explained to us and this only became clear after the fitter spoke to us and we discussed the renovation with friends and colleagues. The fitter was basically OK though he did want to charge us for installing a ventilation fan in the bathroom. We have a good sized window already. So to summarise, Ross mis sold us a bath with a bath filling tap completely unsuitable for our purposes, without explaining anything about it. This would have added a large amount of money on to our final bill. The two stars are for the fact that they didn't insist that we paid a large amount in order to cancel the suite and that we like the tiles we bought from them. No stars for Ross Penman though.

• Unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Nobody offered to help me or asked if I needed assistance. When I asked for advice I was reluctantly given minimal information
