• We enjoyed a lovely meal in The Trout last Friday. Theresa, landlady and chef, prepared beer batter for our HUGE haddock fillets - wonderful! The pub now sparkles in the sun, having benefited from a new coat of paint and Davy the landlord has now made the pub a free wifi hotspot. There is also talk that the Soutern Upland Way is to be directed through the village. It only gets better in Barrhill! Come and visit - you are assured of a very warm welcome from all.

• The Trout Inn is currently undergoing an external facelift in time for the Easter holiday season. Still a brill place to eat and drink and we remain as enthusiastic as when we first posted our original review.

• agreat pub with acosy logburner and excellent food. There are four letting rooms upstairs and we were made to feel very, very welcome when we moved to Barrhill last month. Davey and Theresa are the new owners and are utterly charming. Stalking, fishing, shooting and the Trout Inn - who could want for more?!

• This is a great wee place, we stopped for a quick drink and ended up being there for 4 hours as the banter was so good. fun place to try.
