Just horrendous, utterly disgraceful—there are no other words to describe how badly I feel scammed.
Ah, Touchstone Lofts, where mediocrity meets overestimation in the most staggering fashion. I had the distinct misfortune of engaging with these so-called "professionals," though I assure you, professional is a term they seem barely acquainted with.
First off, the sheer audacity of calling themselves loft conversion specialists is laughable. They should be experts in incompetence, as that’s clearly where their talents lie. The workmanship – if you can even call it that – is a perfect homage to shoddiness. Crooked walls, ill-fitting fixtures, and the sort of slapdash finishing touches that make one wonder if they’ve ever laid eyes on a spirit level.
As for their timing? Oh, don’t get me started! Promises of swift completion, all smoke and mirrors, designed to keep you dangling in hopes that they might actually show up. When they do, it’s as though they’ve stumbled in from the local tavern, clueless, disorganised, and wholly uninterested in the task at hand.
Their communication skills, or lack thereof, are equally appalling. Trying to get a coherent answer from them is like asking a cat to play the piano – utterly pointless and deeply frustrating.
If Touchstone Lofts spent half as much time on their actual work as they do on making excuses, they might have achieved something resembling competence. Alas, I’m left with the aftermath of their woeful endeavours – a disaster disguised as a loft conversion.
In short, I wouldn’t trust them to convert a shoebox, let alone a loft. Dreadful, absolutely dreadful.
I want to warn potential customers about my extremely disappointing and disturbing experience with Touchstone Lofts. Not only did I encounter poor service and deceptive practices, but I also discovered alarming behavior that calls the credibility and ethical standards of this company into question. It became evident to me that Touchstone Lofts is engaging in the reprehensible practice of paying for fake reviews on platforms like TrustPilot and Google. Their attempts to manipulate their online reputation through these deceptive means are a blatant reflection of their lack of integrity and disregard for genuine customer feedback.Additionally, I was appalled to discover that Touchstone Lofts uses Shutterstock photos to mislead prospective clients into believing that these images represent their own work. This form of misleading advertising is inexcusable and creates a false pretense that does a disservice to unsuspecting customers.Furthermore, the behavior of their representatives was nothing short of appalling. I was met with rude and aggressive responses when attempting to address my concerns, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and customer care that is simply unacceptable. What's even more alarming is that my attempts to hold Touchstone Lofts, in particular Paul, the Director, accountable, for their deceptive practices which were met with threats of legal action, intimidation, and references to involving the police. This aggressive response to legitimate concerns reflects an alarming pattern that raises serious questions about the company's ethics and commitment to upholding the law.In conclusion, my experience with Touchstone Lofts has been marred by deception, hostility, and potentially criminal behavior. Their willingness to engage in fraudulent activities, aggressive tactics, and a lack of transparency has left me deeply troubled and concerned for the well-being of other unsuspecting consumers. I urge anyone considering engaging with Touchstone Lofts to exercise extreme caution and explore alternative options. It is essential to expose and challenge such behavior to protect others from falling victim to these unscrupulous practices.
I thought it only moral to mention that I was originally offered payment by Paul from Touchstone Lofts to leave a five star review on his Google Review page. I did leave a review because I needed the money, but Paul never sent me any payment for it as he promised. I guess there are other students, like myself, who fell for his scam. Annoyed.
I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Touchstone Lofts. Unfortunately, my experience with this company was nothing short of disappointing. First and foremost, the work they performed for me was of extremely poor quality. I had high expectations for the loft conversion project I hired them for, but the results were far from satisfactory. The craftsmanship was shoddy, and it was evident that corners were cut at every juncture. This lack of attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the work, from the subpar materials used to the haphazard finishing touches. Moreover, I found the project to be far more costly than initially anticipated. Touchstone Lofts provided me with an estimate at the outset, but as the work progressed, the costs continued to escalate. This was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of. It is clear that the company does not prioritize transparency in their financial dealings with customers. To make matters worse, the project also ran significantly over budget. I had set a specific budget for the loft conversion, but Touchstone Lofts exceeded that amount by a considerable margin. This not only put me in a difficult financial situation but also left me questioning the integrity of the company. Their failure to adhere to the agreed-upon budget demonstrates a lack of professionalism and accountability. Overall, I regret ever hiring Touchstone Lofts for my loft conversion project. The poor quality of work, the unexpected and exorbitant costs, and the failure to stay within the agreed-upon budget have left a bitter taste in my mouth. I strongly caution others against engaging with this company, as their dubious company setup and lacklustre performance make them an unreliable choice for any construction work. I hope that sharing my experience will serve as a warning to others, helping them avoid the frustrations and disappointments I encountered with Touchstone Lofts.
The biggest business developer is client recommendation. So don't fall for the fancy looking website, brochure, or showhome. Ask to speak to at least three different customers of this company and get their true testimonials, I'm extremely confident that they will not be able provide them, instead you'll be provided with some excuse as to why they can't. They want to control the narrative and manipulate reviews on order for them to look great, when in actual fact, that's not the case.
This was the most awful experience I've ever had with any builder. They caused me nothing but stress and anxiety along with additional expense.
Poorly run, with poor workmanship. They spend more time adjusting and manipulating reviews rather than doing what they have been paid to do.
Touchstone Lofts is a unscrupulous company with an underhanded owner who consistently breaches the trading practices covered under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading 2008 Regulations. Under this legislation, a trader commits and offence if they "engage in a commercial practice which is a misleading action" which causes the average consumer to buy something they would not have otherwise. In particular, this includes fake reviews created by Touchstone Lofts; you'll see it's mostly those that lack any detail, or those reviews left by their company's affiliates and/or subcontractors. You'll also notice their positive reviews outweigh the genuine negative ones that have been left by real, unsatisfied, customers in order for them to appear better than they actually are.
They don't like any negative reviews and have written it into their contract that a customer cannot leave any comments on social media unless the company approves, if you breach this you pay them £5,000 in damages.
I am waiting for Paul to call me back regarding a quotation for a low ridge conversion, can you please call me as it has been over three weeks now. If I don't hear from you I will have no alternative but to take my custom elsewhere.
