• always have a great meal. staff are very friendly. it is amazing value for money, with good choice from a tasteful menu. we have been going for 5 years and would highly recommend a visit. they have redecorated this year and it is classy. keep up the fab meals. 5 stars all round.

• Poor. Terrible service, food average at best. The two above 5 star reviews are clearly biased and this makes a mockery of the reviewing service. Had to wait a long time for a steak that was supposed to come rare, and can only be described as burnt, could accept a long wait for food that was good or perhaps on a weekend but as this was midweek and not busy I find this totally unacceptable, upon complaint was met with hostilatty, steer well clear.

• Just returned from a meal at the Three Horseshoes in Cowpen Bewley and I am still in a state of shock from the horrendous customer service from the manageress. After finishing our meal, the waitress came to collect the plates and asked if everything had been to our satisfaction, my partner explained that her meal was not to her satisfaction, my partner had the roast of the day which on this occasion was beef, the. Meat was very chewy, the vegetables were tasteless and the gravy was very disappointed. The waitress took our comments to the chef who responded with its the way the meat is cooked and that we could have a free desert which we declined. On leaving and going to pay for our meal we asked to speak to the manager, to explain that we were not happy with the meal and poor explanation. The manger was very abrupt and said she was sorry it was not to our taste but four other customers had said they had enjoyed the roast of the day, we explained that the level of customer service was terrible and every customer should be treated on individual merit. The manager then shouted they have done nothing but try to please us and demanded our receipt to give us our money back and told us never to come back to the pub. Again, we explained that the level of customer service was appalling and that we came on recommendation and they should treat customers better. On the whole this was a very unpleasant experience and I will never set foot in this pub again due to the poor standard of food, very unprofessionallism of the manager and the terrible customer service, just pleased we got our money back. Definitely would not recommend this pub to anyone!

• arrived at this charming country pub on saturday night for the first time from a friends recommendation. we arrived early so we had a drink in the bar. this is a great bar sparkling with over 30 malt whiskeys and a choice of real ales.service and upselling was great.the place was packed to the rafters and that is a rare site nowadays even on a saturday night.we went through to the restaurant and had what i think was the best and probably biggest 12 ounce fillet in my life. everything about this pub says standards.my only slight niggle was we did have to wait a while for the main course but it was well worth the wait.a must visit pub .

• great food,fun atmosphere,can't understand the review above. maybe she was having a sensitive day . but i have been eating here for five years and have never had a bad meal, the waiter in question has always been fun and part of the great dining experience we have. i have never seen a negative comment on any reviews of this place so was supprised to see that one.

• Hideous place, rude staff, one bloke who ponces around giving you evils and coming out with lines like "we need your table back 20 mins ago, do you want desserts?" big like faulty towers but not funny. Left me feeling very upset as I took friends and he also abused them and the lady was unfriendly too.
