• went to the reindeer having heard so much talk about it, really good food and freindly service, had a gammon with freid egg and pineapple,really good and the chips are fantastic, my partner had home made fish cakes which where lovly and lite. really good time and the open fire was beautiful.

• Revisited the Reindeer since it re-opened in early December 2011. Another great meal, place well appointed, warm and welcoming. Staff very helpful, spotlessly clean, throughtout. A great credit to all concerned, we will return soon.

• visited for sunday lunch with family, arrived to a very warm welcome from both hosts, Carl Tompson and Kate Needham.We were seated in the revamped lounge area where we sat on leather chesterfields in front of a glorious open log fire. Our drinks were bought over to us by one of the staff with a beeming smile. Our other guests arrived and joned us before being taken through to the recently tastefully decorated dining area. Our drinks were taken through for us, our starters arrived shortly after to which we all devoured, one thing we did notice which made a great change from other venues and that is the staff didnt keep interupting us to see if the food was ok, We were soon onto our mains. the beef was cooked to perfection, we had a great selection of seasonal veg which arrived lovely and hot. other members within our party opted for other courses which to came out nice and hot and presented to a high standard. We moved onto the sweets. The sweets were amazing. one of our party opted for the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. WOW, the ice cream was to die for, this is supplied by a local parlour. Theres even an ice cream called reindeer,I opted for the cheese board which came out well and truely dressed. a good selection of local cheeses, some fine biscuits and cellary sticks, it even had some homemade chutny to boot.oh and not forgetting the all important glass of port. This venue is a fantastic place to eat and drink. Its very hard to find a venue where all the boxes were ticked,a warm welcome, excellant food and friend staff. well done to all the team at the reindeer, see you again very soon
