• This shop has new owners, so don't be put off by the old, out-of-date reviews, that are no longer relevant. It's lovely. The woman who owns it is a delight, as is the young girl who is working there over the summer before going on to study radiology. It's a classic, old-school sweet shop and the world is a better place because it exists. Go. Chew. And come out smiling.

• Whilst visiting a very wet and windy Kirkby Lonsdale a few weeks ago I stumbled across a the quaintest sweet shop I have ever seen. oN entering the shop I was overwhelmed by the amazing array of sweets. the staff were very pleasant, approachable and helpful. I wanted some sweets for my elderly mother but they didn't stock them so they said "no problem! We will get them for you and send them in the post" Now that's Service! If you fancy a nostalgic trip down memory lane then I would thoroughly reccomend this little Sweet shop in the North West of England, Five Stars

• i have been a loyal customer to the shop for several years. and recently the ownership of the shop has changed. before this move the staff was warm and inviting and you could depend to be served with a smile but since the change over the staff attitudes and hygiene has decreased rapidly. i was served by the male employee, he was rood and arrogant, he over priced me and when i tried to correct him in a polite fashion he denied the clams on several counts even though i had explained his error to him. i have to inform people not to go unless you are looking to be insulted.

• Every year i go to Cumbria to visit my friend, i have done this for 6 years and whilst i am there i always grab some traditional sweets for my other half. I used this shop last time so whilst in Kirkby Lonsdale i thought i would go again. However, i wish i never did as the service i had from the young girl who must have been 16yrs of age was so rude, her attitude, the look and service she did really made me want to walk out but as these sweets werent for me, i didnt. I think this girl was more interested in the boys and grabbing there attention. Its such a shame as you dont get the traditional shops where i live and it just ruined my day. Note that this complaint is on the service of the young girl and not the goods, i have no complaint about that.
