Swarthbeck farm cottages, my party stayed here in 2011, we regularly travel to the lakes and stay in cottages, b&b's, camp sites etc. after finding these cottages through the group accommodation website we were surprised at the prices and thought we would visit, what a mistake that was, i have never seen anything like the accommodation on offer, we stayed in their ravensghyll cottage, awful setting, sandwiched between a derelict rubbish filled barn and a storage garage, on entering the smell hit us first...damp foist, and then we seen the place, scruffy, cobwebs everywhere, dirt, filthy oven, food on plates in the cupboards, trees growing in front of windows, filthy walls, my god i don't know how it is legal to rent somewhere like this out, we left early, with bites around our angles and breathing difficulties, please avoid.
filthy, rundown, avoid at all costs, don't know how they have the cheek to rent these out.
