Owner description of Star Hotel

"The Star Hotel had new management in late 2014 and is now a warm welcoming hospitable hotel. Our top floor bedrooms have been refurbished and we now cater for both budget and deluxe travellers, whether working locally or visiting our lovely town. We have 15 en-suite bedrooms, two bars and a function room. Our hearty cooked breakfasts will always set you up for the day! "

• Probably the worst hotel in Scotland. Filthy, run down, poor service. Breakfast cold, the list of complaints could go on forever.
