• Holidaying in Barnstaple for 2 night from the 23rd july, on route we decided that a pub lunch woule be nice, we decided on the Mason Arms on the A361 but it did not open Mondays,a gentleman said that the Stag Inn just down the road was open and under new management, we had seen that on our route, so we went there instead, it was the best thing we did as the food as great,lunch we had homemade soup, it was so good we decided to go back on the tuesday 24th July for dinner,they had a lovely young girl who serviced us, she was lovely, smiling and could laugh with you, the son of the owner serviced us drinks, very good and not pushey but suggested a drink we may like, my husband likes a proper beer and he loved the Stag beer, if we every get to go to Devon again we would go there for a meal or just a drink, as the locals where very friendly as well. The pub was very inviting and had that very relaxed feeling about it,you could also sit outside. Best choice we could of made. Made our holiday.
