• Well I cannot agree with the my fellw Whalley residents on here at all! I find the staff very likeable after all they are human beings similar to the customers.I think the people who write rubbish critique on here need something else to do and should go and see the nurse at Calderstones as they are obviously in need of assistance.what do you want the staff to actually do sing you a lullaby or serve you? Thank you Spar for being in Whalley otherwise these people would be cluttering up the Tesco web site to moan about them.

• I totally agree with some of the comments on here and there is definite room for improvement in the store. I go in regularly after work and always found the evening staff are very friendly especially the staff on a Thursday evening. I think that they are under pressure to perform far too much what is asked of them though. If I was a manager in there I would have a dedicated till team and a dedicated shop floor team. This way they could concentrate on one thing or the other, which in turn would benefit customers and staff to keep everyone happy. I have always found the stuff that I need and if I can't, I ask a member of staff and they always have a look to see if they have any. Yeah it is busy at those times and a room for improvement is required but I like the evening staff.

• The most appalling customer service from this store. Staff have either never been trained on service or cannot be bothered to offer the customer a resonable experience. No queue management and very rude unapproachable staff, not even a hello or thank you. The owner needs to address this!

• Expensive, fruit and veg is usually not fresh, staff will continue stocking shelves despite long queues at the till. Don't bother going between 4 and 7pm, it's painful!
