• Went in for two lunch time specials (battered sausage and chips, fish cake and chips, small portion of chips). Ordered at 1:02pm, come 1:25pm when all the other customers who came in after me had been served with their food and had left, I wondered where my relatively simple order was. It had been forgotten, cue a mad rush to get the sausage and fish cake cooked as they sold all the others. Finally got my food at 1:35pm. Couple of notes. Staff turnover is huge - always someone different each time I go in Servings have got smaller but cost has risen. 50p charge on card payments less than £10 Riverside built up a good reputation and are using it to their advantage, but they have lost a custom now from my family as their service and sadly also the food leaves a lot to be desired.

• Very expensive for what you get . Prices have increased and portion sizes reduced . Even the staff have been reduced so waiting times can be up to 30 minutes . 1 iut of 10 !

• best fish and chips.i live in kent and go to essex twice a month.first place i go to.fish and chips are the best really good staff.would love them to move there shop to kent.

• Always got fish and chips here on a Monday or Tuesday.and was great.But today at 1.30pm only 1 person waiting? I found out why...Price per portion had increased by 50p, fish size was smaller and to top it all the oil had an awful taste.I'm afraid I had to fling them.Had a cup of tea to get taste out of our mouths. Sorry, we have been loyal customers for about 2 years.Rating NIL no stars. Goodbye!

• FANTASTIC FISH & CHIPS THE TASTIEST I HAVE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME.THE TWO PIECE OF COD I GOT WERE REALLY HUGE AND THE BATTER WAS SO LIGHT TO TASTE AND IT WAS A REALLY BEAUTIFUL COLOUR. THE CHIPS WERE GREAT. IT WAS COOKED TO ORDER AND WELL WORTH THE 10 MINUTES WAIT. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND VERY GOOD SERVICE. WILL BE GOING BACK REGULARLY HAS TO BE THE BEST CHIP SHOP FOR MILES.
