• Heard about the refurbishment so decided to give it a try one afternoon on the way back from a hospital appointment. Husband went in to the loo whilst I parked the car. I followed him in and waited for him to decide where he wanted to sit. ( Plenty of choice as the pub was empty and cold.) Whilst I was waiting a rather large rat ran from behind the bar into the gents toilet. Needless to say we didn't stay.

• waited for 55 mins for meal, 1 meal wrong it took them 15-20 mins to bring meal back out by which time most of us had finished. it was my daughters 21st, took balloons up in the afternoon, they forgot to put balloons on the table before we got there so was very dissapointed with that too all in all not a very nice celebration had there

• Nice refurb, lovely attentive staff, and well presented,good value food. Maybe more real alea would be good but i was driving so not an issue.

• Awful service, soup,coffee and main course had to be returned - had eaten here previously and had excellent service and food but today was poor -will not be returning

• Ate lunch here and it was excellent,especially the pudding.Bread and butter pudding and custard and apple crumble with custard.How they serve 2 courses for a fiver is beyond me.And such good quality.Parking is a bit tight but that apart a first class place to eat either lunch or dinner.

• Food good, service OK but, disabled parking appears to be reserved for staff and management. As forcibly explained by Manager Mark Boswell. "He does not like customers parking too close to his sports car, so he uses a space reserved for the disabled". We will not be calling again.
