• I don't know how good their houses are as I never got to live in the one I'd reserved....I'm just posting to warn potential buyers that if serious issues arise that could affect your purchase, they are not interested - and that's regardless of how they themselves might be implicated. For them, there's always going to be someone else come along to buy the plot - and they've got your deposit money to cover their 'expenses' - so why should they be concerned about how your finances and - more importantly- your health might be affected by the loss of what was to be your home.....? I was in an impossible situation where I couldn't risk my daughter's health by going ahead, yet I knew the stress of pulling out was also going to cause us both a lot of heartache. Buying a house is a major life event - but for Developers, I guess their only real interest is in making the deal - and making the money. You can't rely on them having any goodwill. So if it's a new build you're after, see if the reservation document allows for mitigating circumstances. This might at least protect your deposit should it become impossible for you to proceed, especially if it's through no fault of your own.
