• They’ll know immediately if/when reading this, who wrote it. Put it this way ‘Tenants liability insurance’ is not mandatory for a totally unfurnished property. Under no circumstances can an Agent or Landlord enter your property without permission, unless in a dire emergency. If they threaten to enter and change your locks if your not present ’ILLEGAL EVICTION!!’ Criminal act (imprisonment and fine is outcome for that)!! Making false allegations against you in an attempt to get what they want their way, defamation of character. Telling you who you can and cannot contact (eg Landlord), tut, tut Mr & Ms Morton. Then a section 21 because a tenant happens to know more about Housing Law then the Agent, BIG TUT, TUT!! In my case, they have acted outside the law, attempted to cover it up with tall tales, when caught out, chose to evict. If your with an Agent and you believe they are doing something wrong, they probably are? Your local council have a private tenants section, they can give help/advice, mostly on outstanding disrepair issues, or attempts to break in. Otherwise go to your local CAB for help and advice. DON’T TRUST THESE AGENTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They have proven incompetence in less than three months of my tenancy, if/when they do decide to respond (only quickly when to their advantage), it is in a very rude and arrogant manner!!
