• They do not seem to answer the phone. Tried for hours !!!.. could not book so went elsewhere .... strange way to run a business!!! could not rate food or service... so I give one star for no phone answering

• I understand that the Old Shire belongs to the same people who own the Inn for all seasons. I go to the Inn for all seasons regularly and I have never been disappointed so I tried the Shire last night for a change.Not good, the potatoes tasted as though they were reheated from lunch time and the cabbage was soggy.Maybe the chefs from Shire could have lessons from the excellent chefs from the Inn for all seasons. Although the Shire is closer for me I'd rather travel and have a decent meal!

• went to this Inn for the first time earlier in the year and have been back several times. Love it - lovely atmosphere, good food, nice staff and we love the old building and its history. We are now going to book up a table hopefully in their lovely conservatory for about 30 people for my family to see my son from Scotland who has been to Afghanistan.
