- This is not the Moulders Arms we used to know, On 17/06/2014. my husband had the mince and dumpling, the dumpling was tiny and washed out, no taste and the meal was very bland, I had the roast of the day the yorkshire was burnt, and hard, these 2 meals were off the lunch section at £5 each, for £5.99 at the Toby you can get double the size of the meal and freshly cooked. Years ago we used to enjoy our Sunday lunch at the Moulders every week, always hot fresh and plenty. We were offered a £5 voucher of our next visit but declined this offer.

- we visited this pub at tea time 4pm as it,s near our home and we fancied a treat.we had been a few months ago and had the 2 for 1o pounds offer which was good.they have various offers on every day and are good value and the food is good they are also getting a good reputation for their sundays dinners which we may try some time.we went yesterday.i had smothered chicken off the specials board and my husband had the gammon both came with home made chips and vegetables we also treated ourselves to onion rings which were home made.i also had a dessert .my husband had some beers which he said were nice.if you live in the birtley area or are just passing by i can recommend givng it a try.

- I visit every other Friday lunch time when collecting my grandson from the local school. We thoroughly enjoy the food and the 2 dine for £9.99 is exceptional value. Jill and Paul have turned our local into the best it has been in years. Well done for the hard effort! And a big thankyou to Sarah who is always very pleasant and attentive to our needs. On the whole an exceptional pub and back to it's best!

- Visited last week on recommendation of my daughter. The service was excellent! The waiter couldn’t do enough for us and our family loved him! We did not wait long between courses. The food was beautifully cooked and the restaurant is very pleasant and also very relaxing. Tip - go VERY hungry! The servings are quite big and plentifull. You need room for the puddings too!

- Went to the Moulders Arms for the first time in years last Sunday after being recommended by a friend. We were served up a treat of a meal!!!! All locally sourced produce - all freshly cooked - proper gravy - superb staff especially the lady in charge. This pub is a real hidden gem and should be visited by all - saying that it was very busy and so I should think at only £4.95 for a small plate dinner and £6.95 for a huge portion with massive yorkshires - give this is go - back to its best!!!!

- Went there for the first time in a couple of years last week!!!! - fantastic - better than it has ever been even under Phil. Best value for money in the area and the friendliest staff i have met. The prices are excellent value too. We are going back for Sunday Lunch this week as we here it all fresh and home cooked. The pub has been refurbished and looks superb - Well Done to the Pub Operators who I believe are Now & Then Pubs who own the Shepherd & Shepherdess - another of our favourites!!!.

- Yet again had another lovely meal at the moulders with my family. Chicken curry is the best I've had, loads of chicken and veg with rice and proper home made chips. Staff are Very friendly and helpful (especially Joe) and always go above and beyond to ensure a good time is had by all.

- Much improved. Have used this pub for over 10 years, used to be great food, then went down hill. New management are turning it round with a varied menu, friendly staff and a PROPER chef in the kitchen.

- Went to this pub last week and all i can say is, what a difference. They now have quality meals that everyone could enjoy. All the staff are very friendly and the management are putting on new activities and events including bungee jumping which people can enjoy. If more people try this pub, it will bring it back to like it was many years ago. A good friendly local.

- Went a few days ago with family and friends for a meal, what a big let down, i ordered 8oz cumberland sausage, the sausage was no thicker than my finger and full of fat, the chips were dry but edible, should have come with veg but the one and only waiter did not bring any, no sauces about that you could help yourself, you had to try and flag down the very busy waiter down for some. my family and friends meals were not much better, having had a meal in this pub a couple of years ago which was great, it has certainly gone down hill under new management. would definately not go again.

- WENT A FEW DAYS AGO FOR A MEAL, WHAT A LET DOWN THIS TIME, WENT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO HAD MIXED GRILL WHICH WAS SUPERB, MANAGEMENT NOW CHANGED HANDS AND THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE, HAD WHAT THEY DESCRIBED AS THEIR CUMBERLAND SAUSAGE, IT WAS NO THICKER THAN MY LITTLE FINGER AND WAS FULL OF FAT, CAME WITH CHIPS WHICH WERE EDIBLE, SHOULD HAVE COME WITH VEG AS WELL BUT THE WAITER DID NOT BRING ANY, ALSO THERE WERE NO SAUCES, KETCHUP ETC AVAILABLE, YOU HAD TO TRY AND FLAG DOWN THE ONE AND ONLY WAITER TO BRING YOU SOME, £6.95 FOR A HORRIBLE SAUSAGE AND A FEW CHIPS. MY FRIENDS MEALS WERE ALSO NOT UPTO SCRATCH. WE WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.
