• Truly Awful Customer Service at Morningside Post Office with regard to a passport application which they have the cheek to charge you £8.75 for. A miserable unhelpful person who clearly lacks the intelligence to do her job. Privatisation can't come soon enough.

• much improved of late..staffing problems seem to be resolved and waiting times are no longer an issue.

• This place is grossly understaffed. When I have been in there have never been more than two people on the counters, despite a queue snaking literally right up to the door. The last time I was in I saw a few people come in the door, see the queue and walk straight back out again. If you must use this post office you have to allow, in my experience, at least ten minutes to queue.

• One word: awful. If you live in the south Morningside area, you�re effectively stuck with this place for all Post Office related services. With an increasing number of facilities and competitors available online, you�d think customer service would be placed at a premium. Regrettably not. Premises are always busy and always under-staffed. Queues move at a glacial pace and service, if and when you get to a counter, is delivered s-l-o-w-l-y and blandly. There�s almost an expectation that customers want to while away hours of their life staring at the back of a fellow queuee�s head, the tatty carpet, or the �Shop� part of the building where you can buy any number of things including parcel tape, fold down boxes, brown paper and...well, that�s it actually. Here to is another till where you can wait for ages before you realise �in the absence of any signage or staff advice to the contrary- that it�s not in use. Where then? That�s right, back of the main counter queue millimetering its way forward towards the 2 staff on duty.In fairness, not so long ago a senior manager of staff used to go up and down the queue like a hyperactive sheepdog corralling common service customers towards particular counters, and offering genuinely helpful advice. Unfortunately, any pretence of speedy service, help or assistance has long since gone. If you want to lose several hours of your life that you won�t get back again, then Morningside Post Office could well be the place for you. Otherwise, I�d avoid it.
