• Mill Inn at Withington was the 4th pub we had walked into after a cold wet winters walk. The first three..in Northleach, were most unwelcoming. We drove from Northleach to Withington and were not disappointed. We were welcomed with a cheerful greeting and a smile (instead of a tut!). The fire was still burning away, the collection of beers was unusual but delicious and most importantly for two hungry walkers, they were still serving Sunday lunch at 2.30pm. Delicious, hot and fair priced. Will definitely return.

• The Mill Inn is like stepping back in time to both the 1970's and 1670's . Service is slightly 1970's also . Personally I am happy with that and would recommend it to anyone who is not too impressed with modern life . The folk around are friendly , well behaved dogs welcomed . Food is better than 1970's although in keeping with that . If any of this changes I will have a less positive view of it . If you long for a time lost you will be happy . An uncut diamond . The location and the inn are very special . In France or Italy we would love it's old world charm . I give it 3 stars only in a modern context , it deserves more just for being a perfect time capsule .
