• We had moved into a new house and wanted a fitted wardrobe for our en suite bedroom. We approached two well-known high-street furniture showrooms with a detailed design and layout of the proposed wardrobe. The first one continued to break off our discussions to ‘’meet and greet’’ new customers, and even when they produced their version of our design, when we pointed out that it wasn’t what we had designed, they had to admit that they didn’t really do bespoke designs. The second took our details, and entered them into their sophisticated CAD system with twin computer screens. This does enable them to use a 3D view to rotate the image to be viewed from all directions, to show what it would look like in our bedroom. However, when we asked for their proposed dimensions, again the design did not completely fill the space as we had drawn. In response they said we ‘’use off the shelf’’ standard units. In both cases their prices turned out to be competitive, but did not completely fulfill our desired requirements. We live in Nelson and while shopping in Clitheroe, visited the showroom of Michael James LTD, and agreed a meeting to discuss our design. What a difference, Michael & Vicki completely understood our requirements and over the next week or two, they replicated our design and helped fine tune details like mirror colours, overall finish and trim. The manufacture, fitting and snagging of the wardrobe did take several months – due mainly to their workload and the use of ‘’new to them’’ slider units and paint colour/finish combinations. We are delighted with the result and have no hesitation in recommending Michael James LTD in preference to the ‘high street experts’. As the saying goes ‘’ if you want fast food, go McDonalds’’ but if you want a professional project, go to the real professionals!
