• Where do we start. This is a lesson in every department in how to spend money but get every aspect wrong when opening after refurbishment. Since the old place shut we all waited for a new owner. Could not be worse surely? And lets face it the local competition could not be easier to beat. Instead we get a landlord who couldnot care dressed like a kid. Leaving untrained staff (under 18) who cant work tills or change barrels, in charge while he relaxes. Lets his dog bother diners (who lets dogs in bars wher people eat? What is he thinking) and does not care. Lets his dog do his business in the kids play area and expects staff to pick it up!. Leaves building work outstanding and planks unfixed (ask the guy whose face was rearranged last week when he tripped up (despite the landlord being told the plank was loose) Has has over 12 bar staff in 10 weeks and 6 chefs and still the food is overpriced, bland and the menu remains a typed stained piece of paper with made up silly prices. It really could not be worse.To eat or to see the silly prices. And he wonders where all the initial surge of drinkers and diners have gone? Doh! Once bitten - and treated so badly - never to return. Dont get me started on his lack of bar pricing and mistakes. It is really getting well known locally. They just dont care and the father's attitude is the same. God help Horam. It was said they would 'beat' the competition and lets face it that would not have been difficult with good food, sensibly priced and an appreciation of the client which is rare in the area. However the competition which was probably shaking in its boots must now be laughing. See how full the other local pub car park now is!! If they want to know how to treat customers and run a pub just go and drink at the six bells, the gun, the star at either waldron or heathfield. See how they look after people and serve good food at proper prices and guess what? No dogs!!!! No hairs in food and no mess in the garden!! Surely they must be starting to realise their arrogance and treatment of clients is failing as its now as empty as it ever was. The lack of locals drinking over the cold winter nights might wake them up as their revenue drops further - but we all doubt it. A great opportunity totally squandered. Pub for sale??? Bets being taken now!
