• The food was very bland, spaghetti carbonora was mediocre at best, I have cooked better myself and have little to no training in food. The other meal, pollo pepperanara was an absolute discrace, it was literally a chicken breast covered in a tin of chopped tomatos with a few peppers thrown in, honestly zero flavor whatsoever. The service was bad, we never got asked if everything was fine with the meal (come on guys even the weatherspoons pubs manage this), bare in mind we were the only people in there and there were 2-3 members of staff just stodd around, plus they forgot to write our order down therefore we had to ask three times for the bill. Why not just come over and be honest about the mistake, rather than make us wait 20mins then tell us, the order wasnt going to magically re-write itself you are seriously just wasting my time now. The decore was old and dated but I really don't mind that, all I ask for is decent food and service, we got none. Price is average, It's not expensive but you can eat in much better places for the same price.

• Can't comment on the food as we never got that far! Despite my friend booking a table in advance for a birthday party of six the proprietor seemed to be unable to accommodate us upon arrival as he had inadvertently seated a couple at our table who had just started their main course! He suggested we sit at a couple of separate tables until the couple finished their dinner and then would seat us together. If that wasn't bad enough we were seated next to the couple who actually told us that the proprietor had given them the table as we were not expected for at least another hour so they thought they would be able to enjoy a leisurely meal! As the proprietor clearly hadn't attended the school of charm and couldn't be bothered to at least offer a complimentary drink while we waited we decided to leave and enjoy 'la dolce vita' at home with a few bottles of wine and some good old-fashioned fish and chips as it was too late to get a table elsewhere. I would add that the paper the fish and chips came in was a whole lot cleaner than the menus we were presented with at the restaurant. Needless to say we will NOT be re-booking our evening out at La Dolce Vita and recommend you phone before setting off to ensure they do have your table available. Oh...the photo of the restaurant on trip advisor makes it look much nicer than it is in the flesh!
