• Under new management since last review. New landlords have also run the Isabella pub in Blyth for a few years. Paul and Kay. Restaurant at Kitty brewster has just reopened. Hotel rooms clean, basic but cheap. Some are on suite.

• I would like you to pass on my thanks the owner of the Kitty Brewster Hotel for my 5 hr car journey only to be told that the rooms i booked 3-4 weeks ago were not ready ! Also i would love to thank her for not ringing me to tell me that they were not ready and not bothering to fine us alternative accommodation only to be told by the bar staff their's a hotel up that way or a hotel down that way pointing left and right ???. I am originally form Blyth and was pleased to fine a hotel in the area that we could use as we travel up 4 times a year to see family and having somewhere in Blyth that we could leave the car and taxi around not having to worry about the cost of taxi's or paying high end prices for hotels outside of the area was a good start but the owner could not even be bothered to talk to me on the phone and explain the reasons why we were left high and dry with know were to stay . Me my husband my sister and her partner had to spend the night on a floor with only a quilt it was a terrible night sleep if you can call it sleep. we tried to find accommodation on the Friday but we only had an hour to find somewhere and get change before we were due to meet family for a meal so we took the offer of my aunt's floor for the night . we had to get up and help do the catering for my uncles 80th birthday party so my husband finaly founf us a room at the holiday inn at seating burn but we had to pay the same price for one night that we could have payed for 2 at the kitty but a least they had a room . I have been in the pub trade and hotel trade for years and would have never left a customer in that situation if the rooms were not ready that would hav been ok as long as she contacted me i could have sorted something out they had my phone number or failing that she could have rang round and found us alternative accommodation and i would have been totally happy with that but no she could not even talk to me i would rather pay a higher price than trust a booking at that hotel again.
