• We were bought a highlife deal voucher by friends for Christmas for a 2 course meal at this pub. We were very disappointed. The starter was tomato and roasted pepper soup which was ok but not hot enough and the croutons tasted as if they had been cooked in old cooking oil. The main was belly pork which was very greasy, which I could have cooked better, the cabbage in cider jus was very watery and not seasoned enough and the mash was miserly. The voucher price for this meal was £50 for two. I would not have paid £20. So glad it was free with a free pint.

• Delighted that The King's Head has new and charming owners, plus very good food. I ate there with friends in November and we all enjoyed our meals, chosen from a varied menu, plus stunning chips! A well-priced and enjoyable bottle of wine. Warm and friendly atmosphere.

• The pub now has new owners having been closed during the summer. So far so very good!! The bars have been redecorated and there is new furnture. 4 real ales on offer - all local beers. Good menu of pub food, well presented. If the previous regime put you off then come back and try the NEW Kings Head !!

• Was really looking forward to our evening out at this pub but On arrival the greeting was as cold as the pub itself by the two girls working there . There were 2 open fires in the pub but they remained unlit during the whole of our meal (approx 1 1/2 hrs) There was also no draught beer/ale /cider etc available , only bottled.The food was ok but the atmosphere was dreadful .Wouldnt hurry back to this pub!!

• Absolutely dreadful food. We walked out during our main courses; we couldn't face attempting to eat microwaved food from the Tesco Value range. Wish we had good things to say, but sadly we don't.
