• Dined at the jolly Roger. If you're thinking about it, save yourself! Food dire and I mean dire. Wholetail scampi looks like a cocktail sausage, breaded and deep fried from frozen. Unless the chef is using Guinness for the beer battered fish, the oil needs changing and soon. Fishcake was served dumped on a pile of greenery which had seen better days. All in all, what was an excellent pub is now probably the worst in Gosport. It seems that the chef has lost the urge to cook delicious food and the owners are just cash hungry without a care for good service, good food or good standards. They should get a chef who cares, knows about portioning, presentation and how to cook from frozen. Diabolical!
