• Overcharged for everything. Said he had a good team, but they were other tradesmen he had hired on my behalf. Have discovered that he pocketed much of the money I paid for them. No receipts...some of the work is crumbling after only 3 years. Lawn laid on the rubble from the job..needless to say has not thrived, and is in a bad state. (I had a lovely green lawn before)... Needed cash to emigrate to Norway at the time, and made a huge amount out of me (I am a pensioner. This was supposed to have been the most expensive gift I have ever treated myself to. It was, and still is a disaster. James was raising cash to emigrate to Norway immediately after my job. He didn't tell me this when I hired him. Told me he was 'honest', anything but. Still very cut up about him making off with about £8000 of my limited savings. Avoid.
