Terrible place, no atmosphere and the food is as good as a chocolate fire guard! Not a place to go if you want a friendly and welcome place!!!

Went to the ivy last week for a meal and was greeted by brilliant staff who couldn't do enough for us, the Irish bar man was particularly funny and kept us entertained while we waited for our table, the food was amazing and definatly homemade I had the kingthoroe cheese and roast dinner follows by an Irish coffee made perfectly. Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere would go again tomorrow 5 out of 5

Me and my wife called into the ivy on a Sunday afternoon ! We were greated by a bar person who was to busy talking and sharing a drink ( alcoholic ) with locals to serve us . We ordered a meal from a red faced landlord who customer service was like being advised on how fantasic he was personally than being treated as a valued customer ! The food was advertised as home made but was over priced, over cooked and poorly presented! The ivy did not feel in anyway how a English pub should I think the landlord thinks he owns a first class restaurant, at best this is a second class cafe. Wouldn't recommend to anyone intact would advise people to avoid the ivy like the plauge!

My husband and I went here for Sunday lunch. There was a problem with the food and all the waitress said was "I'll tell the chef". When we came to pay the bill we were asked if everything was OK. I said that no, there was a problem with my meal. they said "I'll tell the chef". No apology, no reduction, no interest was shown. We certainly won't be going to a place that has such appalling customer service

What to the ivy on our way back from the coast dreadful would never recommend to anybody, the the landlord obnoxious, rude, ignorance and that's being nice, the food was ok at the best, would never stop here again,

The staff were brilliant. Food was excellent. found the pub by accident as we live 50 miles away. If travelling that way again would definantly visit again

I stayed in horncastle and was told to go to the ivy fora meal in the evening so I went I found the atmosphere in the pub very homely and the locals eager to talk to me the food was beautiful and the log fire added and extra bit of comfort, I would highly recommend this pub the welcoming atmosphere and the pleasant staff who could not do enough for me was very nice to see that there are still lovely village pubs that hold onto certain values in the way you wish to be treated 5 out of 5...

wonderful landlady who runs a lovely pud. unfortunatly her bully of a parter/landlord ruins the atmosphere by swearing at children argueing with his staff and storming around with an angry offensive RED face. aviod like the plague if your looking for a child friendly pub.
