• It's new it's still Rubbish. What a disgrace 3/09/14 people should train to cook fish and chips best forget drive to ballater

• Agree with the other review. The new management of this place have wrecked a previously good chip shop. They have no organisational abilities whatsoever. 4 of us went in here for some fish & chips. No menus out, no indication of how you place an order. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes while the staff ignored us and avoided making eye contact. When we did finally place an order the food took ages. They were dealing with far too many orders with too few staff. Really poor, won't be back. If a decent alternative opens up nearby, this place will disappear unless the management sort themselves out.

• Oh dear... what has happened to the hungry highlander? this used to be our favourite stop on the way home after a few days in the cairngorms, we got there thursday afternoon to find it deserted & where all the (usually packed) picnic tables used to be is now a car park, I thought oh well at least we won't have to wait... but before I could place our order the new owner(?) announced he only had fish suppers or black puddings or haggis... NO white puddings (my fav) & NO saveloy or any other kind of sausage for the pooch (his fav)... so we about turned & carried on back home... really, Really, REALLY! disappointed with the new management.
