• Went here for our Christmas do.Booked the table in Oct and paid the deposit.We're shown 1 long table to accomodate us(15 people)When we got there(Dec) we we're given 2 seperate tables.The table had cutlery on them but NO wine or water glasses.We ordered the wine before we sat down but had to ask 3 times for it to be bought to the table(came AFTER our starters and had to pour ourselves.)The starters they got wrong the main meal wasn't all that and the puddings..well!! Home cooked but shop bought.The staff didn't seem too bothered it was just somewhere to get money for Christmas.As we found out later one of them was the MANAGER think someone need to go and get some people skills.We paid over £600 for this evening and have sent an Email to the Proprieter(STILL waiting for a reply after 1 week). We WONT be going there again and definatly will NOT be recommending it to anyone.We own our own buisness and if we treated our customers this way we'd be out of a job.Iv given one star only because I have to myself it wouldnt get any

• We have been regulars at the restaurant for quite a few years on and off. The food used to be really good but something has gone wrong and its not as good. We have been several times when the food has really let H and H down. For instance 'home made' fishcakes?? a mismatch homemade and out of the freezer, just not good at all. Another time we tried the lovely meal of sea bass on a bed of spicy veggie noodles - delicious. Ordered again, awful - so very disappointing was served with a few strands of not so well cooked linguine!! I felt very annoyed as I knew this was not noodles and felt fobbed off - we went especially for my birthday. Recently we decided to give it another try at lunch time, it was quite empty and we wanted a high chair - no high chair, but a high bar stool chair! We had our own baby booster seat but this even with this it really was not very comfy for our small child. I have to say I do not think we will be visiting, its quite expensive but very poor value for money.
