• Just like to say what a lovely meal i have just had in the Hare and Hounds today (1st April) really good home cooked food which is very rare in todays pubs and i agree with the other reviews the beer is spot on to will be calling back soon even though its a good hours drive away for me

• Just had a sunday dinner,didnt book but should have had to wait about 30 mins but boy was it worth it washed down with afew pints of good cask beer be back soon. PS the staff were very friendly and you dont mind paying more for quality

• Went to pub this month. Arrived at 12.10 and the door still locked when finally opened was greeted with"You're keen aren't you" I was surprised and offended by this comment, as this was our first visit! Very expensive menu - £9+ for fish and chips £3 for chips. Miserable waitress/owner. Food threw down in front of us. We will not be going again.

• Went on reccomendation of a friend and arrived without booking but was served promtply and accomadated for no problem. Staff friendly and food lovely. The only place in Glossop where you can cook and see your steak on a rock. Would do deffinatly return.

• Food cold. Drunk people in bar. Meat tough. Won't be going back. There are much better places to eat in glossop

• The worst meal I have ever had. The food was cold and the meat tough. I do not complain easily but nobody was interested and didn't seem to care. I will not recommend this pub or will ever visit again

• I had been told by friends to go to the Hare & hounds as the food was good that was an under statement the food was amazing home cooked food no microwave involed anywere(you do have abit of a wait for your food but its well worth it) they also do steak on a stone which you cook yourself ( i will be trying that next time ) and to top it off i tried the desserts which are also home baked, the staff were very friendly and agood selection of real ale with at least 3 on at one time very nice i may add. Very nice night out will be back soon
