• After reading your comments I would like to say that I had a very good experience using Gowlings for my house purchase. Mrs Williams who dealt with my transaction was very helpful and took alot of time to explain the process. As a first time buyer this was just what I needed.

• Having worked in a solicitors office, I was familiar with the pressures that solicitors are under during a property transaction. Gowlings were very professional and dealt with my transaction very quickly explaining the process clearly. My Lawyer Mrs Williams was always happy to help with any query, even when estate agents were giving completion dates that were unachievable. Wouldnt hesitate to use these solicitors again

• Using this firm has been one of the worst experiences of my life. As soon as I had signed the Gowlings contract I entered a parallel universe where the client is the enemy and must be treated with suspicion and avoided at all costs. Why are Gowlings staff all so angry and distrustful of their customers? Emails are written in jargon (a lot of it making little sense) and laced with hostility. Very dark and troubling experience.

• Really bad experience with this solicitor, it was really hard to contact and talk directly to the solicitor who was dealing with us, the receptionist would direct it to someone else instead (who was not a solicitor). Once, I was directed to someone who was very rude, didnt even acknowledge my concerns and worse, she just put the phone down while I was very sad and confused on the other side of the phone! such a disgrace! would not recommend this solicitor to anyone at all! I always felt out of the loop through out our purchase, and the solicitor even went on leave without updating us....Definitely no stars for them

• This firm are *appalling* - strongly encourage you to go somewhere else. Very slow to act, no communication, rude receptionists who won't put you in phone or email contact with the actual lawyers. My lawyer went on holiday just before exchange of contracts without any warning to me, and then (only at my insistence) my case was handed over to another lawyer (after a wait of 2 days), who then... went on holiday! I had ignored the many negative reviews on numerous different websites to my great cost!

• I used this solicitor, Dont bother all below is true,I even got a letter refuting my feedback from the solicitor. I will not change my feedback, and I would open my dealings with you as they are on online dealings with dates and complaints. Would that be better for all on internet to see and see what so-called emails you sent to my questions???

• DO NOT USE THESE SOLICITORS! They are very slow and do not return phone calls or emails. If I call them I talk to a secreatary or a junior assistant at the best. Never spoke to the actual solicitor. I am thinking of switching to another solicitor in the middle of the purchase.

• Another 1 star from me also exactly the same experience as above. I never once spoke to the solicitor I was paying for and only ever talked to ignorant secretaries. They were also incredibly slow on getting the checks done and very nearly cost me the sale. Avoid at all costs.

• Absolute disgrace. PLEASE do NOT use these CLOWNS. They don't return phone calls, use juniors to deal with complex matters and will cost you your sale/purchase unless you're VERY lucky. I only give them 1 star because zero isn't an option.
