• I usually eat in the golden lion during the week which I have found very good I took two friends with me on Saturday for lunch which was a totally different experience very poor service we were there two hours had to ask for the bill twice had to have second choice for starters and desert roast beef sandwich was full of grissle which must have been visible when preparing, my creme brulle wasn't served with shortbread overall very poor if there was less than 1 star I would have put it!

• Good food, awful service - possibly worst I have ever experienced. Unpleasant and miserable staff that take 20 minutes to make 1 coffee and a fresh orange juice, then when I asked for milk with my coffee the 'waitress' looked at me like something she had just stood in and spoke to me like i was a naughty child! The management really need to get some decent staff in to match the food - this place could be excellent - all it takes is a smile and a pleasant attitude, that girl should not be working in the service industry. - I will give it 1 star for the food alone.
