• We went to the 4 cross roads inn for our wedding anniversary meal. We did not book ahead of time, but had been there years before and wanted to return. We were very disapointed and actually walked out. We were given a table to sit at that had been booked for a party that had not turned up and the waitress said she would bring us a menu. She came to take our drinks order but did not bring a menu. She later collected menus from a table next to ours and walked past us without leaving any. We havd to call her back to leave us two menus. We chose our meals and waited, and waited and waited but she did not return. There was no one behind the bar and no one we could catch the eye of to come to us. We finished our drinks. The people at one table who had finished their starters when we arrived were STILL waiting for their main meal and the people who had ordered were getting restless waiting for their starters. We got fed up went to the bar to pay for the drinks and was asked why we were leaving. We said its too slow in here. They said oh we can take an order now if you wish, but we said no and left. We went to the Hammer and Pinsers, had a wonderful evening, great food, quick service and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend the 4 crossroads unless you have a lot of time to kill.

• we had a booking for eleven on the 4of september at 1 30 but four of the party where going to be a bit late we started our meal thinking they wouldnt be long but they turned up 1hour late but the staff where very good about it and where very pleasant and helpful through out it was then 4 15 when we left i only have praise for the staff thank you for making my birthday special

• There were 15 of us that went for mothers day meal, table booked for 5pm but was told at 5.30pm that people were still sat at our table, we were only told this after enquiring if definetely knew we were there. When eventually seated all adults ordered carvery, but we had to ask if could go up, was told no not ready, but one of party went to toilet passing carvery on way
