• My husband and i visited fortes the weekend it was such a shock and disappointment to be treated so unfairly.A mistake was made on the staffs part on our meals.We asked if we could change it to our original order we were told no.We asked for a refund that was no but we could buy what we ordered again.Manager rude and uncooperative to change our meal.m.My husband left with his wrong order in a box.Some people are all heart.Food was good but wrong order.Never been treated so badly won't be back.

• Over the last 40yrs we have visited Fortes many,many times but no more, what was once a good restuarant has steadily gone down hill although it's decorated often the very grotty toilets have not been done for years, poor & petty minded customer service, dirty floor, sticky tables,some staff rude, NO it's a big miss & thumbs down from us.

• Went there today after ordering two jacket potatoes with fillings, two cakes, a tea and coffee, jackets over cooked very little filling, stale cakes, waited for my husband to finish his cup tea so I could pour half my coffee away to ask to add some hot or cold water to weaken coffee as it was majorly too strong. Went to assistant who was making coffee to ask for water, she put in cold water then proceeded to throw away coffee to half cup as she said that was the level she had received my cup how very very petty does water cost that much these days especially cold!! Felt like getting the other half I had put into tea cup together with slops but just couldn't be bothered will just not go there again after all nowadays there is so much choice and service with a smile very UNHAPPY customer!

• We visited this establishment on Friday 20th July and won't be back in a hurry. The place was absolutely filthy and the toilets were disgusting. There were plenty of staff standing around chatting but doing very little work. Dirty plates, cups & saucers were piling up on tables but not getting cleared very quickly. It wasn't that busy and yet it took us 25mins to get a coffee. The glass on the front of the Ice Cream fridge looked as though it hadn;t been cleaned in months.

• Visited several times July 2012. Rather unimpressed and disappointed after past visits. Staff seemed miserable, food and drink ok but presentation very poor. Men's toilets disgusting. Dirty and in need of repair. A real shame, needs a good shake up cos always used to be so good.

• i enjoyed all your food last time me and my family came to Burnham for our holss from Birmingham we will defently be coming in July to eat on our next holls in my b,day month all the food is top and the place is nice and the staff are lovely

• A well run establishment, offering a good variety of lunch dishes as well as good quality pastries. In addition they have a selection of delicious ice creams and a comprehensive menu of ice cream sundaes, banana splits. The portions are large � very good value. The only problem is that they cater for take away as well as eating in on the ice cream side and you have to queue up twice if you want a cup of coffee with your ice cream. Since the queues are long, the ice cream is melting while you stand in the queue. This apart � would recommend it and wish there were more like it around the coast!!
