• My granddaughter visited us from New Zealand with instructions from her Mum to take some oatcakes back with her. She took two dozen and customs in NZ had never heard of them but she described them as a savoury pancake and she was allowed to take them into the country. Her Mum had three bacon and cheese oatcakes for her meal, her first oatcakes in ten years and described them as yummy!!!

• Foley's oatcakes I find ARE the best tasting in staffs. I even post a dozen to a friend in London, who got to taste them for 1st time when he lived for a short while in Stoke. The Chelsea Pensioners are now fans too.
