• Really disappointed with the service received at this salon. I had called eclipse for the first time as I was desperate to find somewhere with availability for the 5th September for a haircut for my 12 year old daughter - we could not get into our usual salon. The receptionist never asked about my daughters hair length/thickness or what kind of cut she would like at all, she just offered a date and time which we accepted. On arrival the salon was practically empty and our stylist, who appeared grumpy and disinterested, asked what my daughter wanted done. We both said she would like a short style (her hair was shoulder length) to which the stylist abruptly responded that this wasn't a restyle appointment and that she doesn't have time to do that. I had absolutely no idea that I needed to specify a 'restyle' appointment over the phone but was told when I suggested that perhaps the receptionist could have clarified what type of cut we wanted that this was my responsibility, not theirs. My daughter, who is incredibly shy just agreed to have a bob to cut out the blue dye at the ends.... So off they went to wash her hair. I sat observing them noting that there was zero interaction with my daughter, the stylist was incredibly unfriendly and really couldn't be bothered. When they returned I wanted to enquire whether the bob, which was going to be chin length, would be bevelled and tapered slightly at the back, (to avoid a mushroom effect!) the stylist rolled her eyes!!!!!! That was the last straw. It seemed to me that she was un prepared to do anything other than a simple straight across cut. I was astonished at how unbelievably rude she was and stunned at her comment of 'Well, we don't have to go ahead if you don't want'.... At this point I agreed that we wouldn't go ahead and just left. All of this could have been avoided If I had been advised of the different types of appointments at the time of booking, but instead it seems that it was just assumed I should know and they deflected any suggestion by me that perhaps they should enquire about what we would be looking for at the time of booking to ensure they had sufficient appointment time to meet the need. Funnily enough, as we walked out of this empty salon, I noticed just how busy the salon on the opposite side of the road was. Says everything!! Eclipse desperately need to improve on their customer service!There are several salons in Thame. I'd avoid this one if you are looking for a new place to get your hair done.
