• Popped in for a drink a few weeks ago when out for a walk and had a very nice lunch there. We enjoyed it so much that we went there on Friday for our anniversary meal and again today for lunch. The service was a bit slower today as we came in just after 2 large groups but it was worth waiting for. It is reasonably priced, nicely cooked and presented and we will be heading there more often now as it is within walking distance of our home

• we popped in for a quick drink one Sunday after being out for a long walk. We were pleasantly surprised as the place has just been done up and is looking great. We decided to have our lunch there and we really enjoyed the meal. The staff were pleasant and the food arrived quite quickly. It is our wedding anniversary today and we are heading back there tonight for a meal as it is within walking distance for us, saves going into town

• I am the unfortunate customer,to walk in to the downfield hotel on strathmartine rd place an order and had to wait 40 mins. When I cancelled I was met with a manager who was rude and over bearing and was blaming me for not ordering two hours sooner.I asked for credit note to have a meal another time and was met with a flat refusal I then asked for my money back again was met with a flat no way pity I paid by cash. ARE THEY SO DESPARATE, OR ARE THEY IN SUCH FIANCIAL TROUBLE ??? they can not accomondate any of the above for customer goodwill relations. We did order at 5.40pm and did stipulate we had to leave at 6.25pm we did talk to the owner who sided with her staff. Pity she did not check with the till for time of order and the camera at bar when I was up to complain about time of meal 40 mins later, for her manager lied to cover the fact the hotel could not cope with four tables. With one chef and one waitress bringing out one meal at a time for a table of four customers I pity them customers. Had we been told of time delay by the young lassie at the till, we would not have ordered. If the place is in trouble and closes down and staff are laid off I won't loose any sleep over it...
