• Our friends have just spent 2 nights here... (22-24 Oct. 2010) This was on our recommendation, as we have have eaten in the pub a number of times in the past and always had good meals and friendly service. Now managed by someone new. It was most certainly NOT up to usual standard. While the room was acceptably clean it was really quite basic and the service was very poor. Although fresh towels were provided the second morning, the bed did not get made up for them and also no repacements were left of teabags, coffee milk etc. The new manager was generally most unsociable and hardly spoke to them. Cont.breakfast was NOT as stated... no grapefruit segments or yogurt offered. A pot of tea was sitting on their table going cold when they arrived for breakfast both mornings and they had no crouisants, just toast the first morning so they had to request them. Hardly worth the �3.95 charged per day per person! Dreadful service generally by the guy in charge there, if he is the manager (I think he was called Steve). Temporary caretaker or otherwise, he certainly does NOT encourage customers to return. The pub itself is EXTREMELY shabby and needs a darn good facelift. To top it all our friends were furious when they came to pay the bill, because the manager insisted on cash only!!! No warning when they booked in that this would be the case! Wonder what sort of game he's playing?!!! Altogether a very unsatisfactory and disappointing stay for them. They would certainly NOT return there, and we who live in the area will most certainly never recommend this pub to anyone ever again!! It is an embarrassment to Snaith!
