• Me and my partner have had many a pleasant meal at this place. The last time we went was the 24th Jan 2014 whereby we ordered sirloin steaks to be cooked well done. When it arrived it was a thick slice of pre-cooked roast beef which had then been quickly fried. Didn't even taste like sirloin steak. It was then placed on top of greasy,chunky, soggy chips. An awful meal and we won't be in a hurry to go back.

• We go here regularly. The food is good and wholesom and the service is excellent. Nice friendly atmosphere. Real fire. Often there are deals such as two courses for �7.95 before 6pm but ring to check.We even got a free bottle of wine with our meal on one occassion. Go on give it a go!

• Having visited previously on a normal midweek evening and having thoroughly enjoyed the experience I talked the family into going on Xmas Day. This was a first time event having done Xmas at home for the last 30 years. Sadly having table No.1 meant nothing as having arrived with time to spare and having forwarded our menu choices in advance we firstly had to wait one hour for the starter to be served. This timescale continued throughout the visit to the extent that three hours in we ordered sweet course and coffee's at the same time as transport home was booked and imminent. Too many booked with too little staff and bad restaurant management spoilt our day. The bar service and the quality and quantity of the food was very good as were the young waitress's. Sadly the staff suffered as i was not prepared to leave a tip. Oh, and we didn't get the mince pies with the coffee.The atmosphere suffered as many others had the same experience as us. Maybe it was a table of regulars who came in after us and were nearly finishing their main course when we got our starter !! enough said.
