• We went back to the Cross Keys after a few years absence and were impressed by the décor and friendly atmosphere. The food was good, particularly the steaks. One of our party had the chicken dish which came with mash but no vegetables and really that is the only adverse comment I can make, otherwise the rating would have been 5 stars. It is a real oldy worldy pub and worth a visit.

• We were not impressed. After initially ringing to reserve a table they said they were full (we mentioned we had a voucher) On ringing back and reserving a table without mentioning the voucher they this time funnily had a table free (we then mentioned the voucher!)I was given my voucher for my birthday. �50 with Groupon. The menu, food and service was terrible. I have had better meals at chain pubs. The menu board was minimal to say the least. With delights like mushrooms on toast and frozen fish with soggy burnt chips. There wasn't a vegetarian option and the prices confused us as you could buy my 2 course meal for �11. Not sure how we would spend �50. Sauces in plastic sachets and not surprisingly the staff didn't ask if we were happy with any part of the meal. The atmosphere was full of voucher shame and confusion as most people who came in were on a voucher. If they are expecting people to return or recommend they are going to be sorely sorry. We did enjoy a wonderful coffee and cake at Manor Farm Bleasby on our drive home, I would highly recommend this. You don't have to waste all the petrol either as it is much closer to Nottingham.

• I have to say, given their website and hype. That I was expecting better. they had paper napkins, pre packaged sauces, even the cutlery was in a basket that you helped yourself to. Food was of a good standard though. But if the quality of napkins and condiments were better then it would have been perfect.
