• Sadly we had lunch there today and found the vinegar bottle full of flies after we had added it to our food. Told the staff who checked and other bottles were the same. Laura the manager has apologised and stated she will retrain. Sadly we won’t return

• Gerry good pub and very warm friendly welcom good food served thru week evenings and daytime Sunday lunch is excellent but you need to book as very busy staff are friendly and welcoming a must try pub good parking and kids play area outside

• We were not impressed with the Cross Inn at all. We were over from Northern Ireland visiting family in the area and went for dinner on Sat 23rd April. The service was shockingly bad. They made us pay for our dinner before we ate it. One of our party ordered the breaded mushrooms starter to be told that they hadn't had any mushrooms on the Friday and they didn't have any for us on the sat evening. Two members of our party ordered the prawn cocktail starter and I ordered the prawns in batter with sweet chilli. We were then told by the waitress that there was no lettuce. One of our party who had ordered the prawn cocktail asked for a discount as lettuce is a key ingredient in a prawn cocktail, to be then told that we couldn't have one as we were paying for the prawns and not the lettuce. The prawn cocktail was served in a dish that should be used for an egg. The amount was a slightly more than a teaspoonful with four thickly sliced cucumbers on it... pathetic. My starter was �3.99 and was 3 very small prawns in batter with a quarter of a tomato. The main courses were no better. The cod in batter was cooked to a crisp that you could not cut into it, The chicked cooked in its own juices was a dry as a bone, and the 8oz steak was returned as there was no meat only fat on it. We only got the money for the steak refunded and the land lord sent his quite young waitress out to face us as he didn't have the nerve to face us himself. As we were leaving a gentleman was standing at the bar ringing the service bell and had been standing there for a while. The staff were all smoking outside watching. Very, very disappointing. They clearly have no clue how to run a restaurant and their chef needs to go back to school or find a different career. Disgraceful!
