• First time visit in the evening - have been for Sunday lunch in the past a LONG time ago. A la carte menu on saturday we visited featured some familiar dishes with one or two new ones. Two way pork was delicious, succulent & tasty & the crackling was the best ever! Lamb shank cooked in port & red currant was tender & very enjoyable- accompanying vegetables cooked to perfection. Warm Dorset Apple cake & clotted bream to follow, subtle flavours & while the warm chocolate cake & vanilla icecream didnt quite live up to the very friendly waitress's description as heaven in a bowl - it was delicious! The staff were genuinely warm & friendly & the bill was acceptable. We would certainly visit again if in the area.
