• Pleasant 1800's hotel 100 yards from main rail Station. No disabled facilities or lifts, but I understand that ground floor rooms may be available. I liked being on the 1st floor. Foot traffic and entertainment from the ground floor can be noisy during 'events', but is quiet after 11pm. Food is very good, and staff are well informed and very helpful, but economy rooms may be less than appealing (you get what you pay for). Wi-Fi available, ask at reception. Mid-week is quieter than weekends. The hotel appears to accom travelling guests and some DSS homeless. Not exactly gay friendly, but contacts can readily be made amongst staff and guests and taken back to your room for a bit of fun. I was told it's possible to hook up with M/F couples, but I wasn't so lucky on either visit. Will be back during Aug and Sept. Fingers crossed.
