• The CO-OP Amesbury is to close.THIS IS GREAT NEWS.This store was never a viable proposition.It got off to a bad start.The same staff,doing the same thing,selling the same products,and no bargains.The most noticeable thing about the new Co-op was that there was nothing new. The supervisory staff were doing what they did in the old shop.Some supervisors were nice to talk to.There was a group of women there,mostly middle-aged,who thought they owned the shop.They were nasty,self-opinionated,mostly untidy,and generally rude.They were unhelpful,and did not treat the custome with courtesy.They were just rude! There were three in particular,who ruled the place.A little dumpy blonde woman,a dark haired small nasty woman,and a woman whose name started with an H.When a customer made a complaint,the attitude was- take it or leave it! Customers voted with their feet - they just did not shop there.I am glad the store is closing.I hope the staff are not employed in the new store.When complaints were made to head office,nothing was done.I telephoned,sent e-mails,but did not get an answer to any of these.It is justice on the store and management.The Co-op blocked several times the coming to Amesbury of large stores,and the Co-op blocked and application for new stores to open.They have had to close.Good news they are closing.Good riddance.
