• Chesterfield 25/06/2011 If you live in Chesterfield then you are kind of stuck with over priced local facilities but this cinema has extremely bad service. As others have said, you have to buy tickets at the good counter, and with only one or two very average staff, it takes ages to get served, even if you just want a ticket. The reality of this is that it can easily take 40 minutes to get served by which time you are past the last sale time (tens minutes after official start time) and then the thick as mince staff member lies and says that the cinema is sold out. Yes there are other members of staff milling around doing nothing to tackle the long queues etc. You can of course buy you tickets online and pay another �0.70 per tickets for the privilege of saving their staff the hassle of processing you really slowly themselves. Then if you are lucky enough to get in on time, you have to sit through 45 minutes of adverts and a few trailers (I really wish I was exaggerating when I say this but I am sat in the cinema now and the film has only just started) before the film finally starts. Shouldn't they be paying me to put up with this kind of materia? The manager is obviously a complete muppet as the cinema has always been like this each time I have had to visit (not very often over the past ten years - usually try to go to Sheffield or Nottingham). If you have to tell someone how bad it is, then they are just not up to the job!
